Just a Housewife......

 A 46yr lady was posted for Hysterectomy ( Uterus removal). Her Haemoglobin was just 5mg%. I had to anaesthetise her.I was wondering " How can an affluent family lady have such low Haemoglobin?".It was shocking to hear that this lady had been bleeding per vagina for one month.She felt shy to tell her husband nor consult any Doctor. She was brought to hospital when she fell unconscious in the house.

A 65yr lady came to my Pain clinic with last stage of Cancer Breast and metastasis in organs and bone.When enquired about her treatment so far..her husband told me that She had detected small node in her breast 2years ago.But ignored it.Six months back,when she developed foul smelling ulcers over the breast,she was brought to hospitals Unfortunately the cancer had spread all over the body.

We ,Mediacal professionals get to see such cases everyday.

It is sad to see curable diseases like Hypertension, Diabetes, Leprosy,Tuberculosis,Fibroid in Uterus,Tumors In initial stages not getting diagnosed and treated in female population. 

I am just a Housewife.She is just a Housewife.

She doesn't contribute financially to the Home nor society.

The lady feels... Why to unnecessarily trouble my already overworked,tired husband or son with  my such trivial issues.

Hesitation to discuss or seek remedy for health issues.

Fear of consequences.

Neglect of the home maker by other family members.

We should realise the importance of the Home Maker. 

Give her Dignity of her labor and hard work.

Make her feel important. Develop her self respect and confidence.

She doesn't want any renumeration for her hard work nor appreciation.

She only wants her due respect in the Family.

Acknowledge her sacrifices.

It is disheartening to see a women brought both eyes blind due to Cataract.

Grossly Anaemic due to prolonged bleeding

Extreme stage of Depression,Last stages of Cancer,Severely malnourished..

Uncontrollable BP or Sugars.

How can the family and Society fail to take care of the person who makes our Home?

With Unconditional love and affection, mothers ,wives,sisters have taken care of all our needs.How can we show Apathy,ignorance, or deference to their well being and happiness.?

How long...will she be.... Just a Housewife......?

    Their contribution is irreplaceable, this lockdown has resorted us to the count of countless tiny jobs which we never did....so each member should be given equal care whether it's a bread earner or maker.

How much......is too much?????

  How much ....is Too much????? I happened to visit my Paediatrician friend. An IAS officer brought her 2 month baby for check up.The baby was crying while passing urine.Urine tests and culture showed no infection. The concerned Mother showed a methodically maintained book on number of times the 2 month was breastfed,pooped, burped,passed motion,flatulence..body temperature..etc etc....We were surprised by minute details noted every moment of the newborn by the apprehensive but diligent new Mom. Now we come to the part .....How much....is too much???? To maintain asepsis....the overtly careful mom.....had wiped the private parts of the baby ...each time it passed urine or motion.....with concentrated hospital Savalon antiseptic solution...... This resulted in inflammation of the baby's soft mucosa over private parts.....making every passing of urine agonizing and burning.......
