My perspective.....

Ganapati, Gajanana, Gajanana......Gannuji........

The Elephant God, with a big round belly......such a big body sitting on such a tiny mouse for transport....

A snake tied to the bursting huge belly. 

A single big tusk.

Big Ears.

And a queer shaped favorite sweet dish called Modak.

Very fascinating. 

Very intersesting. 

For any kid ....

So this diety has songs by kids

Tu rehna saath hamesha........

On most traditional families.....there are long, daunting Pooja rituals for other Deities.......lots of rules,regulations and restrictions which have been followed in name of rigid customs and regulations. 

But our dear Gannuji......

is people friendly, easy going and relaxed deity. 

Anybody irrespective of caste,religion,sex,color,race can bring Gannuji home. 

Gannuji loves decorations,creativity, themes made especially for him.

Gannuji loves songs and dance of any form.....even  Rap and Jhankar beats.

Gannuji loves Modaks .....any form but shape has to be Specific. So kids get to eat even Chocolates made in Modak shape when Gannuji is at home. 

Gannuji is flexible with time period also....From. half a day( Office holiday) to 10days,11days and some houses 1 month.

Gannuji is eco friendly. We can grow a tree also from Gannuji every year.

I love Gannuji since childhood as Sarvajanik Ganpati Mandals would allow me to dance on stage,draw in competitions and most memorable was We kids would be shown movies on the huge white screen put on the road across the big Ganesh Pandal.

Even more exciting would Pandal competitions overTheme of the year.

Very possessive we kids would become of our Sector 7 Gannuji.

The entire stay of Gannuji would be filled with activities, Bhajans,prasad and competitions. 

Even more celebratory would be Visarjan.

The eyes would be moist as if we all are seeing off our own dear family close person. 

But elated for dancing all along the streets with.....

Ganapati Bappa Moraya
