Essence of Success.

 How successful are you?

This is often asked question to one ownself and also by others to you.

What is measurement of success in our life?

Is it measured by the power I have attained in my social circuit?

Is it by the number of people who know me in the society?

Is it on basis of materialistic exploits I have managed in my life?

Is it education, degree,power,wealth????

What is definition of success?

I had once gone for a funeral if an octogenarian. Saddened when his son commented" My father managed to earn only name as a good person. But absolutely no wealth .What is use if good name in today's world where everything and all that matters runs on power of money."

I am today at an age where actually all that matters runs on power of money.Yes,money is important. But for survival and good life especially after retirement. 

Yesterday, my mother who worked for many years in the Meteorological department in Mumbai ,was felicitated by her Junior staff even after retiring from her services almost a decade ago .The Director of the Centre,her colleagues,junior staff remembered her even after her retirement so fondly, respectful and with warmth.It was overwhelming for all of us.We all felt very proud of her.

Here I must tell you ....when in service,the respect and love we get is mostly due to that particular position we are in.Our position and power commands that respect from others.

But the True Essence of our personality, our life.....the real heartfelt love, warmth and respect given to us after we are no more in that particular position, place,power,situation or even this universe......when another person doesn't get anything from us,through us,by us........unconditional and unselfish......is what we have earned in real life.

True meaning of success.....is how much I could contribute to my society, my people. How many lives were changed or benefitted through my work?

How much have I contributed to others....not monetary....but love,warmth,values,Ethics,support,.....

If people....even if a few ...remember me fondly....after I have left......after I am no more......is my real achievement.....a true essence of my life......
