In the walk of life
In the walk of life.
Small incidents.
Not much relevance.
Simple people.
Small gestures.
Easily forgotten.
But make you emotional and teach you many things.
Lessons of life learnt in the....
Walk Of Life.
I prefer Group tours with unknown people.
They are full of surprises and many stories.
Retired couples with kids abroad.Spending some leisure time earned after years of hard work, struggles, and sacrifices.
Young newly married couples starting their new life together, bonding and getting to know each other.
Friends and Families having a small get together.
But what touches me most is Daughters bringing their Moms.
In India, women are entrusted with domestic responsibilities and they hardly are allowed nor do they feel to spend time and money on themselves.
When the Daughter gets educated herself against all objections and restrictions....Becomes independent....financially strong....
The first thing, daughter does is .....
Taking The Ever In the 2 walls of Home and Kutchen......Simple,Shy,hesitant Mom .....to a Trip where Mommy can just let go all Inhibitions and splurge.....
Leaving the Saree and Bindi back home.....for few days......
Some judge them.
But I fully endorse them.....
Shyly wearing salwar Kameez the first days....then trying western wear for the Gala Dinner organized by the Tour Agency.....
Eating Pizza, Pasta.....
Clicking selfies and posing before the camera ....
These are small gestures.
But a milestone memory for some.
The simple mother wanted to thank the daughter at the end of trip.
Gold Souk was last in itinerary of the trip.
The Daughter chose a Bracelet with earrings to match .
She showed her mother.
When payments had to be done.....
The Mother removed a ring from her finger....
The Ring was all she had been wearing her entire life. ..
The Gold Ring was all she possessed as Asset....And nothing else in her name....and on her body......
" That's all I have.....
That's all I can offer my daughter as gratitude for this wonderful trip....the best time I have had for myself in my entire lifetime......
I am 71yrs,this Ring is of no use to me now".
It just brought tears in my and my husband's eyes.
We took the daughter aside....
" Just take her Ring. But don't tell her that u haven't exchanged it.It will hurt her self respect. Don't exchange ever this prized possession of your mother ever......"
That's exactly what the daughter did.
While spending the last minutes with the Group prior departure....the proud Mom showed the beautiful boxes with the Even beautiful Bracelet and Earrings she had gifted to her daughter.
Lessons Learnt.....
