Essence of Success.

How successful are you? This is often asked question to one ownself and also by others to you. What is measurement of success in our life? Is it measured by the power I have attained in my social circuit? Is it by the number of people who know me in the society? Is it on basis of materialistic exploits I have managed in my life? Is it education, degree, power, wealth???? What is definition of success? I had once gone for a funeral if an octogenarian. Saddened when his son commented" My father managed to earn only name as a good person. But absolutely no wealth .What is use if good name in today's world where everything and all that matters runs on power of money." I am today at an age where actually all that matters runs on power of money.Yes,money is important. But for survival and good life especially after retirement.  Yesterday, my mother who worked for many years in the Meteorological department in Mumbai ,was felicitated by her Junior staff even after retiring from h

Atmaja/Atmajah.

Atmaja= Daughter  Atmajah=Son. Sanskrit synonyms for my Prodigy.  My mini - me is an individual different in form but shares my Atma= Soul. I write this blog sharing my Motherhood experiences with my Atmaja/h.....my daughter/son. Motherhood is indeed a beautiful feeling which keeps changing as the prodigy starts growing.  Infancy brings the warmth of small fingers clasping your hand. The warmth and sweet smell of their bodies and breath when they snuggle close to you.The milestones and their curiosity about the world and people around. Teens bring the rebel in them.Yes at times it us frustrating and very challenging dealing with their Gen Z outlook towards everting and everyone. It is this phase where parenting skills read in books go into burner. The true test of my Motherhood actually came into picture. It tested my patience, my values, my understanding of everything......I was actually the one crossing the test of time. When they were at brink of adulthood, I was made to realise my fal

Sanskara/Sanskriti

I happened to be in a city where I knew an acquaintance. It was a Sunday.Luckily he was there at home. He actually gave me an appointment of 1 hour or so. No hard feelings.Metropolitans are very busy. Getting to make them spend their precious  Sunday Rest for someone like me.....made me feel special.Indeed!!! So I reached his place and rang the doorbell. For half an hour nobody answered the door.I had informed at enterance of his apartment and no mobile network inside premises. My Friend apologized as he was busy with a work related call. I entered the drawing room....saw his son,a robust 12 year old sitting and engrossed in a game on his IPad.His mother was also at home but in her bedroom locked.  Neither the kid nor his mother acknowledged my presence. My Friend asked the maid to offer me Water,Snacks and Tea....while he excused himself to attend the important call for few minutes. I was left spending my time alone with a teen next to me on his IPad. I tried some casual conversation

The English in Indians

The English man left India in 1947. But English stayed back forever.  There is a Hindi saying " เค…ंเค—्เคฐेเคœ เคญाเคฐเคค เค›ोเคก़เค•เคฐ เคšเคฒे เค—เค  เคชเคฐ เคชीเค›े เค…ंเค—्เคฐेเคœी เค›ोเคก़ เค—เค। ।।। So true. Today, our Bharat country got named India. And we Indians are slaves of Englishness.  Even the English aren't as English as we in India. India is a country of various languages. But the person who knows multiple vernacular languages but no English....is treated inferior. And the person himself feels incomplete.  India has variety of local produces. They are easily available fresh. They are affordable. They are tasty and great nutritional value.  But nutritionists, Dieticians, and our Own people feel they are calories, unhealthy. Only " English" or " Foreign" is good. I always wonder how Bajra, Ragi is Carbohydrates and not so healthy. But Quinao( I can't spell nor pronounce it) becomes highly nutritious. How Banana is unhealthy....and Dragon Fruit becomes healthy. The English ones are extremely
