 Credit-able.....

When I was in school,a short story by O' Henry ,American Author,was taught. An aging aunt visits her nephew whose wife had just delivered a baby.The couple was leading a lavish lifestyle but all of it on Credit.Their expenses were in contrast to their earnings.
A call from hospital comes " Pay your hospital dues or else you won't be able to take your newborn home".
The astonished aunt left quietly leaving a packet of money as Gift to the Nephew to pay the hospital bills....but instead the Nephew uses that money to pay the house mortgage.
That was a story written in 1915 or so......as imagination of the American Author then.

Cut to 21st Century,Credit buying is the norm of the generation.
EMIs,Loans,Mortgages.......
Everything is on Credit and Instalments.
Young generation is ambitious and full of Aspirations.
Big Bucket List for every thing in life- Personal and Professional.
Gains are important.....Professional and Personal.......
Financing the Bucket List of Life is also easily available.
Life has become CREDIT-ABLE indeed.
Are our incomes and earnings at par with our Expenditures?????
Social media influences public to only spend.
Kids are taught only modes and methods of Expenses....
Market is Mohini.
Lucrative to buying and spending.
How to Earn ....
How to save......
Debit is backseat......
Credit is the driving force today.
Pressures from society are challenging us to spend hugely.
Luxuries have now become necessities......
Ever there is shortage....
Ever is there need....
Ever we are wanting....
This is leading to disappointment and disgruntle.
We are ever comparing and unhappy.
There is an old saying which my Ajji would tell us....
" Stretch your legs to the length of your blanket".....
" Chadra idda asthte kal chachri"

Today ,post covid,market is down.People are losing jobs....
Finance is full of uncertainty.
Life has become unpredictable.
The story by the American Author is so so justified and true in 21st century today.
The Author had actually imagined then....but a reality today.
Dear Friends,
We all love to lead lavishly.
But we must know to control our Reel Virtual lives.....and be concious of REAL life.
Instagram world is tempting.
World of Enticement- MAYA......
Once CREDIT over rides DEBIT.....
Life becomes IN-  CREDIT- ABLE.
Urge ,Bucket List,Aspirations.....are entrapment.
A vicious cycle of CREDIT.
Reason of Relationship problems, Physical and Mental breakdown....
Wars and Losses......
We must today teach ourselves and our kids to save along with Lessons on Earning.....
For our Incredible life.....
UN- CREDIT-able is necessary. Or at least....
Less CREDIT- able......

If wishes were horses.....
CREDIT helps you saddle them.....
But the other half then becomes relevant....
Beggars will ride them....
