Mahakumbh

 Mahakumbh- an Everlasting memory forever.

Mahakumbh at Prayagraj held after 144years when all the celestial planets align in single line.Very auspicious. It has come in our lifetime in 2025 makes us absolutely blessed.

Social media platforms were full of posts,pictures and experiences of the Mahakumbh and Sangam Snan at Triveni Sangam. 

At a personal level, I don't like visiting or being in a very crowded space is religious place.The long queues awaiting for Darshan,the jostling, pushing, loud noise, boisterous crowd.....I don't enjoy.

My Octagenarian mother expressed desire.

The last 3 days of Mahakumbh was the time I chose as crowd would be comparatively less and arrangements well planned.and well organised.Also Cost factor. The airline prices had slightly come down.Safety being main concern because of Age of my mother.

Many who had been to Mahakumbh did warn me of the long treks due to vehicular restrictions and the massive kilometer long traffic jams.

But friends were happy enjoying the divinity of Mahakumbh and Sangam Snan even amongst mammoth crowd.

So " FOMO" Made me do the flight and Tent bookings.

We reached Prayagraj at 8 am.and fortunate to meet Mr Omkarnathji,a UP Government Volunteer,at Boat Club.He accompanied us throughout till reaching our Tent.

We chose a Boat which exclusively took only 2 of us to a Secured spot at Triveni Sangam....in the middle. We took a dip.

The changing rooms made for us in middle of Sangam river.....we're very clean.

Triveni Sangam is union of River Yamuna ,darker in color River Ganga,more cleaner and flow was serene that day and River Sarawati coming underneath( not visible).

The Sangam level was high that day almost 4 feet above...

The flow was fast but serene.

The 1 and half hour boat ride in tranquility( we being the only passengers) was mesmerizing. The flock of Siberian cranes migrated across the River, cool breeze and slight chilly weather....Temples along the Various Ghats,Crossing the overhead bridges..the ringing of Temple bells,the chanting of Mantras on loudspeakers of Temples.......simply Divine.

The boats men helped my mother to take the Sangam Snan dips.Government Authorities had placed Dry Grass underneath and cleared all moss around....so we could find our grips over the riverbed underneath.

There were barricades around to help us hold our balance while entering the Sangam River and taking our dips,offering our prayers.

The changing rooms on these floating Planktoons made only for the Mahakumbh were extremely clean and well maintained. 

The same boat carried us to the otherside of Sangam Ghat. The boats man dropped us to Arail Ghat banks.

Mr Omkarnathji arranged 2 Bike Taxis for us which dropped us to Sector 25 Kumbh Tent city.We offered money for services to him....but he refused to accept " Aap hamare mehmaan ho...You are Guest coming from Karnataka to Prayagraj. Mataji blessings are enough for me."

In this era of Capitalism and Comercialisation,we are full of gratitude to Government Volunteers,Boatsmen,Prayagraj locals and people visiting Mahakumbh for their unconditional help.

I am not exaggerating with the Sea of Mammoth crowd we experienced in Mahakumbh.Scary.

But nobody fleeced us,or took advantage of the difficult situation due to advanced age of my mother.The rates were standard and services offered sincerely with love and compassion. 

Full marks to people and organisers of Mahakumbh and Prayagraj. Salute.

Ace Tours,Prayagraj had booked our Luxury Tents at Shaivadya Camp,Rishikul Tent City,Sector 25.

The entire ambience and atmosphere inside was spiritual and divine.

Located at Banks of Ganga river,the 2 days and 1 night spent at Shaivadya Camp was marvelous. 

The Tents were big and very spacious,clean.

Food was Great. My mother was fasting for Ekadashi.She was offered Fruits,Curds,Sabudana Kheer,Jeera Aloo for no additional costs.The Electric Car took us around.

We participated in the Ganga Aarti on the river bank in evening. Divine.

I also got a Panditji on the Ganga River bank who helped us do Pind Daan in the names of departed souls of beloved ones in Family.

Remembering So many Departed Beloved ones was emotional moment.

I took an Early morning dip in Ganga River and offered prayers in name of each family member,children, friends.....and prayed for wellbeing ,health,and happiness for everyone. 

We returned back to Mumbai on 25th February. 

Mahakumbh will not come again for me.

The entire 2 days showed me Humanity, Tranquility and Divinity.

Interactions with numerous people who showed good values and showered love unconditionally. 

Numerous Divine experiences shared by unknown strangers at Tent site and Airport. 

The entire experience was Spiritual right from beginning to end.

Many question about Scientific relevance of Mahakumbh.

Many question about the " Madness" of Faith...

" Putting your life and health into so much risk and trouble in name of religion and faith"

That's debatable. 

The entire experience gave me peace of mind .Divinity can't be expressed.....can not be explained. 

Divinity can only be experienced
