Progress and Progressive

 Progressed,have we reached there?

2 youth drowned in frozen Sela Lake, Arunachal Pradesh .

Few days back,a hospital staff gifted his young son KTM Duke. The young boy with another friend raced the new bike on the highway at night full speed, lost control and hit the divider. Both youths were on  spot dead.
Morning, the small park with a walking track, visited by many senior citizens, saw 2 12/ 13yr old boys cycle on their new multiple geared bicycles .A walking track with uneven pavement, the boys found cycling the bike difficult. The ignorant boys attempted wheely, crashed trying to dodge the Morning walkers, and fell down. Both hurt themselves badly and had to rush to hospital.

Such behavior is today very common every where in India.

India today is upcoming developing country.
Technology field has seen massive growth.
Digitalisation has made everything accessible and available.
Nuclear families has given lesser financial responsibility on earning members and hence today, youth and adults both have enough disposable income to spend on purchasing many things.

But,though, the country is showing lot of developments in every sector.....
Some aspects remain unchanged.Infact ,we have deteriorated.
Civic sense and responsibility.
Public etiquette.
Discipline.
Respect to people working for us.
Empathy.

Education has upgraded our quality of life.
Technology has improved connectivity and accessibility.
Life has become easier, faster and convenient.

But,humanity is getting lost day by day.
Discipline and etiquette has completely lost.
Corruption adds to this indiscipline and arrogant behavior in public.

You go outside, one sees a person owning a luxurious car open the door of his car and spit on the road.
People throw plastic bottles and chips packets out of moving vehicles on the highway.
Kids and adults both relieve themselves in corners of public places shamelessly.
Archeological monuments even today, have seen people writing their names on them.
Airports see unruly rich affluent educated Indians jump queues, scream, shout and unnecessarily running around disturbing everyone. If someone does object to this mindless behavior, a big fight breaks up which asks authorities to intervene and at times even flights have got delayed due to these incidents.

A child learns so many things first at home and later in school.
But today, except for getting marks and Ranks,...nothing else is taught.
Modern parenting and New norms of education, don't stress on Discipline and Etiquette.
Responsible behaviour and Accountability of actions.

So result is an entire generation of indisciplined and arrogant people who just refuse to follow any protocols or law and order in public.
You attend any function in family or school or public places.....there lot of noise, no respect for the ritual or speech or program going on the stage.Everyone is busy socialising and loudly talking with each other or their phones.Children even as big as 13- 14yr are either running around, screaming or tampering, damaging the property and decorations out of sheer boredom ( after their mobile phones no longer interest them.)
Loud ringtones and Even louder volumes of their social media platforms.

Don't we all experience this?
Don't we all behave similar at many occasions?

If the person next me,behaves irresponsible, then why shouldn't I?

Even if whole Society is on the Left side.....
Left doesn't become Right.....
It remains ever on the Left....
Only perspective changes.

If we want our country to be at par other developed nations, then we need to change our mindsets first.
Only then, will our kids enjoy the fruits of Technology and Developments of our progressing India.
Just " Make in India for a Shining India" slogan is not enough.
First let us shine within ourselves and our attitudes and mindsets.

January 26th is soon approaching.
75yrs complete for a Republic Nation with highest population and biggest democracy.
Let's pledge to be responsible citizens for a better future.
Jai Hind.
