 International Women 's Day.

March 8.

Every year,the social media, WhatsApp, TV channels,Print media, Advertisements....Today even Amul Ad was on Women.....
So many events, programs celebrating Women Empowerment, Role of Women in Society, sacrifices....
Multitasking role.....
Today for next 24hrs,even the most misogynist Society will be lauding the Women around.

But,tomorrow, goes back to where we have been the day before.

Yes.I agree,more girls are getting education.
More women are seen in workforce.Infact,the ground job staff ,cleaning staff,front desk staff.....most clerical staff is seeing Women outnumbering the men.
Society is changing.
Mindsets, but,remain unchanged.

It's fine,when a woman is managing her household responsibilities, nurturing and Caring well and then goes out for work.
As long as her work brings income to the household and does not interfere in her domestic responsibilities as a Wife,Mother,Daughter in law.....
She is " ALLOWED" / " PERMITTED to work outside and follow her dreams.
An " 8 hour " job outside.
A " Working" woman rushes to hurriedly finish cooking, cleaning,nurturing ,caring early morning, to reach her workplace.
After that 8 hour 9 to 5 shift,she again rushes back home to immediately take care of house and family.
In this entire schedule of multitasking.....stress and anxiety do take heavy toll on her physically and mentally......absolutely overlooked by her ownself and society.
It's sad,that every Women 's Day....the picture of a Multitasking Woman is circulated every where.....

The day,She gets promoted and the job demands added hours of responsibility,.....
And.....
Her Duty at home of nurturing and Caring gets interfered......

She either refuses the promotion or quits.

Statistics show more woman in labor workforce.
But at Leadership positions, only handful.
Amongst those handfuls who broke the glass ceiling to climb the ladder of Power and Position ,most are single.
Very few are married with family.

Corporate dropouts are many.

A huge dropout is seen amongst Highly skilled professional women.

Inspite of Family support, many quit workforce due to guilt of not being good at their Duty of Nurturing and Caring.

True Woman Empowerment will be seen only when Women are visible in large numbers equally as Men everywhere.
Whether it's responsibilities at home.......
Or as Leaders in Power and at Position.

If more Men contribute at home in role of nurturing and Caring......
If more Women stay back in workforce to climb the ladder atop.....

Both society and workplace will change mindset and more conducive will the workplace be for highly skilled women professionals .

Fortunately, we have progressed to accept Women working outside home......

Hopefully, tomorrow, we will see plenty Women as Leaders too.....
Infact,one day,we will see a Woman President of USA and leader of GCC.
