Game of Cards

 Game of Cards.

I don't endorse betting on cards.

Cards is a game,we kids of 80s played in Summer vacation afternoons.
There were no ACs nor coolers.
No outdoor game centres.
No Online games,no laptops,no Playstations.
No Summer workshops.
No tours nor traveling .
So the 2 months long Mumbai Summers, sweltering hot afternoons, were spent in indoor games like Cards,Board games and the brighter ones played Chess.

Playing Cards with cousins and friends  was enjoyed by all.
At night ,even the elders would join us.

Game of Cards taught us kids many things.
Many life lessons Learnt.

Cards if played as a Team taught us to compete with each other ,against and together.
Team spirit taught us to support the weaker players in the group.
Card Games taught us to rejoice even in loss. The winner and loser both pitched in for icecreams after the game.

Card Games had cheaters too .Those who never could face a loss, would cheat on their cards. In life, you do encounter such cheats.
Card Games taught us to assess people especially cheaters.
Card Games had Cry babies. They cried inconsolable after each loss .This Game taught one to manage such people in life who are emotional and at times manipulate others.
Card Games made one patient and persistent.
Even with bad cards in hand, just wirh patience and perseverance, one could handle the worst situations and yet win a game against the opponent with 3 Aces...the most perfect combination.

Game of Cards .....
Taught us to adjust ....to communicate....to develop friendships.
Taught us to face challenging situations and accept losses.
Inspite of big arguments and even fights amongst each other for wrong cards and some cheating while hiding cards.....all ended up laughing and teasing one another.
Forgetting and Forgiving ,a very important lesson to maintain relationships .

To share and sacrifice for others happiness. ( just to make your friend win)

Summer vacation afternoons were fun indeed.

Simple and uncluttered.
Chaotic but cherished forever.
