Why do I write?
Why Do I Write?
Summer holidays gave us Baccha Party whole 2 months.
Those were days of no TV,Mobile phone or Laptop. There were no Summer Camps or Workshops.
All cousins would land up in one house.
So total around 8 to 10 of us in our small Mumbai homes. All elders would leave for work in morning, to only return back late eve.Only my Ajji would be at home.
Mornings and Evenings would be play time outside.
The hot afternoons would be a herculean task to keep so many bundles of energy occupied.
My Father would give us a topic and all of us had to write or draw on that topic and show him in the evening.
Few of us wrote.
My love for writing began.
I loved writing on simple day to day topics in simple words. And also I realised that Literature wasn't my forte as I just couldn't write lengthy pages on a topic.
In school, I started taking part in Essay competitions and my Teachers loved my writings .My Language Teachers appreciated the Essays and ideas formed by me.They encouraged me to write.
My Father sent my Essays to newspapers and it was great joy seeing your name in newspapers.
In Medical college, I started writing my thoughts daily in a notebook.
But once I got busy with Anaesthesia, Night duties,Emmergencies, neither mind nor body got thoughts to write anything.
Marriage and Motherhood followed.
Family life and a very busy Anaesthesia practice gave me time to write few words in form of letters to relatives.
It's only when my kids went to Residential school, I started writing again in form of long letters ....motivational ones.
These letters became my Blogs when my son asked me to start a Blog on a social media platform.
The Blogs got encouraged by my Close Friends who shared with their friends.
One Blog written by me got forwarded to me by my husband ( I didn't write my name below as personally never thought anybody would be interested in reading my thoughts.)
One function I attended a young girl, whose mother had sent my blog to her, told me " Aunty,I thought I am the only one struggling with weight issues and dark complexion complexity. Your blog made me feel better that I have someone who relates to me."
When many girls and ladies of all age came to me and said" We can relate so much with your blogs. You speak our thoughts and feelings which we have been suppressing for years."
Why I write Blogs?
Initially as a child,I wrote to pass the summer holidays afternoons.
Later ,I wrote to win competitions and get 1st Prize.
Following years ,I wrote as a Mother to converse and motivate my Premedical enterance exam preparing children.
When my both children joined medical college and got busy with their own lives,I started writing to keep my mind involved as I was battling severe Empty Nest Depression. I was missing my both kids a lot.My son made a Blog in my name on social media platform and posted few on that site.
My Friends posted my blogs on their other WA groups.
Now ,my motivation to write regularly are all those who relate to my blogs and my few simple words encourage them to make their life better.
Thank you all people who have encouraged me to write by reading them .🙏🙏🙏
