My Postal Address

 MY POSTAL ADDRESS.

My Postal Address is

HUBLI

( A Tier 3 city of Karnataka. )

KARNATAKA

INDIA....( A Developing Country)

On any International or even National Forum....I don't have a glamorous nor popular postal address.

Indra Nooyi on a Forum spoke...as a Woman CEO ,she would never have made it to this position had she been in a Tier 3 country India.

US had the Technology and Meritocracy.India lacks all these aspects to mentor a CEO.

For generations, our youth has been taught at home and teaching institutions, that India is not conducive for growth and professional satisfaction for Talent and Intellect.

Every student who comes out of Degree College is advised to migrate to Metro cities....Mumbai or Delhi ....who make opportunities accessible and available for better life.

Then......

Is it necessary for a Postal Address to end with.....

A Metropolitan City....

And .....

A Developed Country.....

To achieve success and lead a Better Life???????

I had attended a Conclave which had Young Start Up Entrepreneurs.

Majority hailed from Hubli - Dharwad...got their schooling and engineering degree from Hubli- Dharwad.Yet they had shifted to Bengaluru......

I asked one of them....why Bengaluru????

Answer was....

I had been in US for couple of years...I mention that in my CV.

I show my postal address as Bengaluru.

US and Bengaluru in my CV attracts Investors.Venture Capatalists Globally recognize only Developing Country and Metropolitan city.

Only 1 young man had returned back to his hometown, Bijapur and started a Start up to help his people where he grew up.

Yet,he did comment " It is very difficult to procure funding for a start up in Smaller cities and towns and in a Developing Country like ours".

Employment and Opportunities is the key factor for Brain Drain and Migration of Talent and Intellect in our country.

With having the highest population in world today....India stands first with highest number of Youth.

Unfortunately, though ,India is today ,the biggest economy as a Market for Global Businesses....

Employment is burning issue.

Youth have degrees....but no jobs .

Technology and Digitalisation has reached even the remotes.

Communication/ Accessibility is easy due to Digitalisation.

But reaching out/ Availability is even today a task because of under development of infrastructure.

Only few Metropolitan cities have good infrastructure favorable for Businesses and Growth.

Youth is educated and majority have Degrees.

But Skill is lacking.

Inspite of Degrees in hand....the higher percentage of Youth is unskilled for employment.

Reson being, the poor infrastructure and quality of education imparted to them.

India has the numbers.....The Quantity.

But unskilled, untrained and inefficient...Lacking in Quality.

My Story.....

I am born and brought up in the biggest Metropolitan and Highest Economy  Financial City, Mumbai.

But I went to a Rural based Medical college.

After my Post Graduation in Anaesthesia, I did get advised to go to UK where majority of my Department colleagues opted to start their life and Professional career.

But,I opted to stay back in my country.

I left Mumbai, much against the advise of my seniors, and came to Hubli.

It's been now 25 years in a Tier 3 city and a Developing Country.

In any Forum.....I proudly display my postal address.....whether International or National.....

Hubli,Karnataka, India.

I have a strong opinion.....

Postal Addresses never decide our careers.

Hard work

Sincerity.

Dedication.

These 3 in a Youth, who is Confident and Pragmatic about Skills and efficiency....

Doors of Opportunities will open.....even if you are in remotest of the world.

My Inspirations.....

Mahatma Gandhiji and Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru left the Developing nations and their practice there .Returned to India and their hometown when under British Rule....economy and conditions both unfavorable.

Dr Bidhan Chandra Roy,Father of Modern Medicine in India and it is his Birth and Death anniversary the Medical Fraterniry celebrates on 1st July as Doctors Day.

Dr BC Roy was FRCS ( Medicine) and MRCP( Surgery) a rare feat those days.He returned back to India. He was of opinion that India can get Swaraj only if the population was healthy and sound. He strived hard and contributed in improving the medical development of our country and health of people. He started many organizations and institutions for health care. He became Chief Minister of West Bengal. He founded the Medical Council of India. He started the Indian Medical Association which brought all Medical Fraternity together in India.

Dr Baba Amte, his son Dr Prakash Amte....both decided to start their medical careers in Tribal areas which had neither accessibility nor Availability of infrastructure.

Yet,Dr Prakash Amte has his publications in Lancet Journal. No Doctor from the best Hospital in the biggest Metropolitan city with best Technology and Infrastructure has managed to achieve this feat.

My message to Youth and Mentors.....

I may not have achieved much in life to be an Inspiration to anyone.

But my Inspirations ,my Mentors taught me to acquire the best skills, learn the best Technology....which will make a positive difference to my country and my town.

Don't keep searching for opportunities.....

Work hard with sincerity and dedication....opportunities themselves will come knocking at your doors wherever you are.

It's not your Postal Address which defines your Identity...

It's you who define your Postal Address.

- Dr Tripti Milind Galgali.

Hubli,India.
